Olive oil tasting experiences and walking tour
An experience based on olive oil culture and nature in the area of Kournas.
For those who want to have an experience to the nature of Crete and deep their acknowledgement in the quality of olive oil and the agricultural life of the island.
At begin of the excursion Participants will have the ability to hear about olive flowering period and olive harvest.
Then we pass from an bee hive where we will have the ability to taste pure honey.
We will see goats live free in the mountains.
Walk through a unique forest and learn about the flora of the area.
At the end of the tour every participant will the opportunity to taste 3 different variations of Cretan extra virgin olive oil fresh from the year’s harvest.
In that theme of the seminar we will make valuation in scale for each olive oil the fruitfulness, the spice and the bitterness.
Considering the previous scale we start to pair the taste of each olive oil with fresh raw vegetables and wild herbs to uncover the preferable combinations and talk about the optimal use of each sample.
Pick up from your hotel can be accomplished by scheduled it at the previous evening.
We meet at Pelagias yard at 09:00 am from where we are transfered to Kournas main square.
Then we reach through the village the church of Aghios Ioannis at the outskirt, from that point our walking start wich will last almost an hour and a half till we reach through forest the church of Aghios Stylianos, a small church under the shadow of Chestnut trees. There we will have the olive oil tasting experience.
14:00 pm we will be back for a lunch at Pelagias yard

Every participant will take a set of 3 bottles of olive oil from 250ml
